Who is Mum With Wings?
I’m a 31-year-old mum who loves to travel and when I had children that passion did not get pushed aside. I have lived in Europe and travelled extensively around the globe. I now live back home on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.
In my role as an international flight attendant, I helped families for over ten years on long haul flights before I had my own of my own. I was nicknamed ‘the onboard nanny’ by some of my fellow crew.
Travel teaches me so much, it energises me, and it excites me… Most importantly it’s an experience to share with my children. For many parents, travelling with kids can bring up opposite feelings to the ones I mentioned; anxiety, worry and stress come to mind.
Friends often ask me for advice on travelling with children almost on a daily basis. At risk of repeating myself like a broken record, I have decided to condense all of my travels tips, advice, information and stories into this blog to help as many families as possible and make their journeys pleasant.
I want to share my own experiences as a travelling mother and hopefully I can inspire and help other families to get out there and travel as much as I do. It’s a wonderful thing to do with your children and something I am very passionate about.
Pardon my work hat! I don’t claim to know it all, but simply to share what works best for me and to share the experience I have in my role as a flight attendant. My way is not the only way and you know your child best, so do what feels right for you.
In addition to this blog, I have Facebook and Instagram pages where I share brief tips and snaps, so be sure to check me out there too.
I’d love to hear your stories and any tips that you might have for me. I encourage you to get involved by leaving comments and be a part of my blog and travel adventures.
Safe Travels, Mum With Wings x
